What are medical peels?
Medical peels are special facial peels that can only be performed by a qualified health professional. They are applied carefully to your face in order to remove the top, old layer of rough skin from your face. After the peel, we apply hydrating and nourishing creams that are readily absorbed because of the removal of this top layer.
This also stimulates collagen production (the material that makes your skin soft and supple), so that over time, your skin can appear more bright, radiant, softer and smoother.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure only takes 10-15 minutes.
How is it done?
Firstly Our registered nurses will prepare your face by thoroughly cleansing the surface of your skin. Depending on your skin type and previous experience with peels the medical peel will carefully be applied.
The peel is then removed using a solution This leaves your pores open allowing your skin to readily absorb hydrating and restorative creams that our nurses will apply to finish the peel.
Does it hurt?
No! We assess your skin tolerance first by starting off at a low does peel. You will feel a very slight tingling/burning feel when the peel is applied and once the peel is removed the burning feeling will subside.
How long does it last?
Medical peels usually work best when done every 4 weeks, while following the skin care routine suggested by our nurses for optimal results.
How much does it cost?
Peels are $70 per peel and we offer discounts if you book 3 or more.
Does it burn my face?
This is a normal assumption. Our nurses are very careful when assessing the peel strength that they use for your skin type. When done carefully and properly there is little chance of any side effects. Our nurses will run through all of these in detail during the first consult.
