What are cheek fillers?
As we age, we lose connective tissue from our face and it can give our faces a sunken, sick appearance ( sagging folds of flesh beneath the chin or lower jaw). By restoring this volume, it can make your face have the youthful appearance and create the contours your face once had. Fillers are made of a product that is naturally made by the human body but as we age we produce less and less.
How long does the procedure take?
Usually it takes only 10-15 minutes to complete the treatment. You will need to arrive 10 or 15 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out some initial paperwork but the actual procedure is very quick.
How is it done?
Firstly, After you have an extensive consultation with one of our nurses, you will be consulted by one of our doctors who will assess your needs and decide on which product and the best method for the use of the product to meet your needs. Our doctor will assess your face to determine where the volume loss is and where the ideal injection sites are to preserve the contour of your face. They will then explain to you where they will be injecting, as well as what amount of filler will be used at each injection point.
We take a couple of before pictures for you with a camera (so that you can see your progress over time). Next, our nurses will make you comfortable in our ultra-modern treatment chair before starting the injections
Does it hurt?
You will feel a sting each time a needle punctures your skin but our nurses keep this to a minimum with current techniques. Our nurses will ensure they work with you for the whole process to be as comfortable as possible for you.
Also, our registered nurses are available 24/7 for their clients and are more than happy to receive a call or text any time of the day (or night!). This way you can be satisfied that you have a health care professional to answer your questions at any time.
How long does it last?
The filler can last from anywhere between 12 and 24 months. It really depends on each individual person. Usually our patients book in every 12-18 months.
